I promise this is true.
As the world speeds past me,
I know that it is me who you truly see.
You laugh and tell them that it is clear as day.
You whisper in my ear
A secret that is only for us to hear.
You know when I am happy, angry, or sad,
And for this, I am glad.
You shake your head and tell them, "Nope!"
"Our girl will do great things!" you proclaim.
I laugh and hold your arm because this is our little game.
But instead, you spoil me rotten.
You do not let my wheelchair limit what I can do.
And we constantly prove that anything is possible, it's true.
I lean my head in, and with my hand I touch your cheek -
What I would say is "I love you forever," if I could speak.
